Programing Link:
https://cdmcd.co/7brYEz
When:
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM PST
Where:
San Diego Convention Center, Room 04
What:
More and more manga for adult readers is being translated and published every year, and many readers who grew up on shonen and shojo classics have aged out of the teen section of the library. Yet most collection development sessions and professional development for library workers still focuses exclusively on building great teen manga collections. This session spotlights the overlooked category of manga for adult readers. The panel of library workers and industry experts will discuss what kinds of manga are available (and popular!) for adult readers, which titles are comparable to other adult collections materials (romance? mystery? memoir?), and some of the more prickly issues around age categories and content ratings themselves.
