"Kumite is like a conversation where instead of words you exchange fists." Shinya and Takumi have joined the elite Kawasaki Ukishima Junior High Karate Club. Waiting for them is the Kanagawa preferectural tournament. This is the first real tournament for Shinya, and he is struck by the atmosphere of the grounds and the passion of his rivals.
