Medalist, Volume 1 Misprint Exchange Program
Hello to all Kodansha manga readers and fans of the figure-skating manga, Medalist by TSURUMAIKADA.
In late October 2024, it was brought to our attention that Medalist, Volume 1 contained a printing error that affected the first print run. If you have an affected copy, Kodansha USA wants to replace your copy with a corrected version, free of charge.
How to know if your Medalist, volume 1 copy is affected:

First, look to see if your version of Medalist, Volume 1 contains the “1st Printing” colophon page, as seen below. The colophon page will be the very last page of the book before the back cover:
Next, go to chapter 2, page 114-115. The photo below captures the printing error as seen in the affected books:
The page on the left has been printed out of order and should actually be part of the page 48-49 spread. If you compare the photo above to the digital edition of Medalist, Volume 1 below, you can see the difference:
Once you’ve confirmed that you have an affected print edition of Medalist, Volume 1, please follow the steps below to request your replacement book:
How to get a replacement copy of Medalist, volume 1:
- Visit and complete the Medalist, Volume 1 Replacement Request Form. This includes filling out all necessary information—including your email, name, address, and phone number. You will also need to take a photo of the colophon page for your affected book and submit it as part of this form.
- Once submitted, a Kodansha customer service representative will reach out to you to confirm your submission, then a new corrected book will be shipped soon after.
- Please wait 1-2 weeks for this updated version of Medalist, Volume 1 to arrive.
