Wistoria: Wand and Sword

Will Serfort dreams of keeping his promise to a childhood friend by becoming a Magia Vander, one of the mighty magicians who sit atop the Wizard’s Tower. However, he is unable to cast even the simplest of spells, leaving him to fight dungeon monsters to earn credits at Regarden Magical Academy. As if that weren’t enough, he finds himself putting his sword skills to the test against a bullying professor!

Regarden Magical Academy buzzes with excitement for the upcoming Grand Magic Festival, a biannual tournament where students face off in the magical arena. With the event also serving as an opportunity to get scouted by the mighty Magia Vander, this may be Will Serfort’s only chance at graduating and advancing to the Upper Institute. But how can a magic-less “no-talent” like Will ever hope to compete?

After top student Julius Reinberg insults one of his friends, Will Serfort decides to compete in the academy’s Grand Magic Festival in the hope of beating Julius. However, Will comes under attack from his own teammate during the Crown Attack event, and only Colette’s timely intervention prevents further violence. Will reaches the crown at last, only to find himself facing down Julius and his team. Now, Will must put all his battle experience and sword skills to the test if he is to emerge victorious.

Will and his classmates are quickly approaching their last semester at Regarden Magical Academy, which means it’s time for the All-Student Praxis. In this ultimate test, students must brave the first ten floors of the Dungeon and take down high-credit monsters. After accepting an invitation to join forces with Lihanna, one of the year’s top students, Will plunges into the Dungeon together with Wignall, Julius, Sion, and Colette. But are they prepared for the terrors lurking in the deep?

After diving into the Dungeon for the All-Student Praxis, Will and his party suddenly get cast down to the eleventh floor—a place usually reserved for advanced mages. Split up during the fall, Will’s party is hard pressed to fend off wave after wave of enemies. They finally manage to regroup, but things go from bad to worse as a portal opens to reveal a dreaded foe: a 270-credit Evil Grand Duke!

Will’s dream of climbing the Tower is shattered after he fails to pass Professor Edward’s final exam, leaving him short on credits. He goes off on his own to brood, even as the rest of the school prepares to ring in a new year at the Terminalia. Suddenly, the revelers come under attack by a host of demons. Will takes up his sword once more and rushes headlong into peril to save his friends.

Regarden is left reeling after a host of monsters crashes the Terminalia festival. With the Magia Vander having exhausted all their magic repairing the Great Barrier, Will and the remaining mages are the Tower’s last line of defense. Yet this enemy may be too much even for Will...unless the Icemaiden can give him the edge he needs.

Thanks to the last-minute awakening of Will’s mageblade, Regarden emerges bloodied but unbroken after the attack on the Terminalia. Yet victory is bittersweet, for Rosti made the ultimate sacrifice, and Will lacks enough credits to advance to the Tower. Only a miracle could keep his dream alive now as graduation day approaches…

While the door to the Tower seems to slam right in Will’s face, an unexpected twist of fate rekindles his hopes—a second Bloom will be held in short order. He has until then to overcome the weaknesses that have brought him to this point, and to do so, he’ll need all the help he can get…

After some unlikely help from Julius and the Ageless Witch Cerridwen, Will manages to recover his childhood memories and unlock the source of his true strength. His performance at the Bloom catches the eye of Zeo, who suddenly declares he’s taking Will for the Thunder Faction. But Elfaria’s not letting Will go without a fight, and she’s bringing everything she’s got! Can the power of love triumph over brute strength?

After a monstrous battle between two formidable Magia Vander, Will’s fate is finally decided and he proceeds to his new faction. However, while those advancing to the Tower expect a straightforward orientation for their new assignments, they instead receive a grave mission: find the traitor who aided in the Terminalia attack. The Grim Generation must tread very carefully if they are to sniff out suspects in their respective factions…

Shade, a mage of Goetia, turned out to be the one controlling Emma, and she proved eager to test out her puppet magic on more of Will’s allies. Will manages to drive her off with the help of a few remaining friends, but Goetia’s ultimate goal remains shrouded in mystery. Can Will and the others find whoever in the Tower is behind all this, and stop their machinations in time?

Zeo leads the Thunder faction on an expedition to the Tower, providing Goetia with an opening to seize the Caulis Panel—and control of the Tower—for themselves. Not to mention the spy is still at large! Can Will focus on the task at hand when confusion and distrust are the order of the day?
