Kaijin Fugeki: Kindled Spirits

Two youths—Jin and Gao—lead a seemingly placid existence in the Japanese countryside along with their friends…but in fact they are holy warriors on the frontlines of the battle against armageddon. The coming of the nigh-unstoppable embodiments of catastrophe known as “Night” has imperiled the entire human race, and only Jin and Gao’s ancient ability to call on the power of the gods through dance can stem the tide of destruction.

Jin, a young man living in a small Japanese town, finds himself united with Gao, a soldier of the British Empire who was driven from his home by Catherine, Night of Typhoons. One day, when the tiny Split-Plit grows to monstrous size and runs amok, Gao is forced to choose between his military’s policy of exterminating the Nights and the Japanese desire to coexist with them. How will he navigate this fundamental difference in values? And even if he and Jin dance the Kagura, can they really protect the town from this unthinkable threat…?!

The time has come for the ritual of the Great Purification, sending back to the heavens every Night that Jin and Gao have sealed away in the ten months since they first met. But in a moment of foolish curiosity Yukari releases the Night of Kamaitachi, and now she must dance the Kagura with Jin in a last-ditch effort to seal it away once more before it can reap the souls of everyone they know and love…!!

Two British soldiers are found immolated on a bus in the midst of a mysterious magic circle. Deciding this was an act of terrorism against the crown, Gao decides to blow up the entire bus depot, and Mr. Hirano comes under suspicion…but they all have bigger fish to fry when the Sparks, inadvertently given access to the town by Miyo’s carelessness, let their arsonous instincts run wild!

The British forces have more than had their hands full with the ever-increasing number of Sparks assaulting the town, but thanks to Jin and Gao dancing their hearts out, the God of Fire has descended from the heavens to put an end to the chaos. Now, after a purifying swim to the grotto of the sea god Watatsumi-Azumi-no-Isora, it seems everything’s going to be hunky-dory—until...?!

Deep in the throes of their newfound love, Jori and Kenshin are strolling on the beach when a massive crisis appears literally at their feet: the British Second Army, charging out from the waves under Prince Theo’s command, intent on wresting away both Gao and the Eeleen. The young couple are taken captive, subjected to horrifying torture…and by the time Jin goes after them, Theo’s ungodly master plan is already underway…!!
