Get vol. 1 for 99¢ and take up to 50% off subsequent volumes!
After recently featuring a number of sci-fi & fantasy titles primed to get people into manga, we’d be remiss to not celebrate Knights of Sidonia, one of Kodansha’s most action-packed sci-fi sagas from acclaimed manga creator Tsutomu Nihei. So be sure to check this series out as this month’s Throwback Thursday digital sale spotlight!
As part of the Throwback Thursday digital manga sale you can now get the first volume of sci-fi mecha adventure Knights of Sidonia, specially priced at 99¢, and also take up to 50% off select volumes after that! Sale starts now and ends Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
Learn about Knights of Sidonia: Outer space, the far future. A lone seed ship, the Sidonia, plies the void, ten centuries since the obliteration of the solar system. The massive, nearly indestructible, yet barely sentient alien life forms that destroyed humanity’s home world continue to pose an existential threat. Nagate Tanikaze has only known life in the vessel’s bowels deep below the sparkling strata where humans have achieved photosynthesis and new genders. Not long after he emerges from the Underground, however, the youth is bequeathed a treasured legacy by the spaceship’s coolheaded female captain.
Meticulously drawn, peppered with clipped humor, but also unusually attentive to plot and structure, Knights of Sidonia may be Tsutomu Nihei’s most accessible work to date even as it hits notes of tragic grandeur as a hopeless struggle for survival unfolds.
